MISSION: Maryland Council for Equestrian Therapies (MCET) is an organization first formed in 1987 to provide a statewide forum for the exchange of ideas, skills, information, experiences, and resources related to all aspects of Therapeutic Equine Activities.
MCET supports and promotes Equine-Activities and Equine-Assisted Therapy in Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia: - Professional development and networking opportunities
- Promotion of Maryland Special Olympics and the MCET Challenge equestrian sports events
- Annual exhibit at the Maryland Horse World Expo
- Encouragement of new EAAT programs
- Educational seminars
- Facilitation of research and collection of data on various aspects of equine assisted activities and equine assisted therapy
- Educate the general public about the benefits of equine-assisted activities and equine-assisted therapy
- Promote exemplary safety guidelines and operational standards
- Facilitation of communication among Maryland centers
